This rifle has about 80% plus of the original blue turning to plum - brown on the balance with mild silvering at the muzzle and along the projecting edges as well spots of darker freckling on the exterior of the triggerguard/floorplate assembly, barrel band, and nosecap. There is some further mild freckling on the vernier adjustable rear sight and there are small spots of mild freckling on portions of the receiver as well as on the Harris magazine thumb-piece and front sight hood. The walnut stock has extensive crisp markings on the right side of the buttstock including a Quebec cartouche, large "II*3" model stamp, and numerous ordnance and issue stamps. There are further scattered handling marks and blemishes on both the stock and handguards under a fairly thick added varnish finish and some moderate impact marks at the heel of the buttplate. This is a great example of a Mk. II* Ross military rifle in fine condition overall. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Ross Model: 1905 Caliber Info: .303 Gauge Info: .303 |
