Description:
NSN, .38 caliber, 4 7/8" octagon barrel with a very good smoothbore that has mild freckling along its length. This percussion revolver uses Joseph Bentley's patented action and has an overall pewter gray patina that is mottled with scattered small areas of surface freckling throughout and some pinprick pitting at the hammer. The gun is Birmingham proofed but is otherwise unmarked and the checkered walnut grips are in very good shape with some light flattening of the points as well as minor handling marks on the butt at either side. The mechanism is tight and fully functional, although the cylinder under - rotates slightly.
