Description:
Serial #X37, .303 British, 25" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a few very faint traces of freckling within the grooves. This is a late war/low numbered 1918 dated rifle that was reworked for World War II and has a replacement No. 1 bolt with No. 4 cocking piece and has been armory renumbered to match the gun. The metal retains 75% plus of the original blue finish with the balance blended smoothly into a mellow plum-brown patina with some mild silvering at the muzzle, on the projecting edges, and bearing surfaces of the bolt. An unobtrusive import stamp is present on the right side of the wrist socket along the top flat. The walnut stock and handguards are in very good shape with some minor handling marks and blemishes under a thick, slightly crackled, varnish finish, most likely applied during the recondition. A single 10 rd. magazine is included and the rifle rates fine condition overall. FFl or C&R
