Description:
Serial #2158, 8mm Mauser, 23" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a Czech lion marked, 1932 dated, non-import marked rifle that retains about 70-75% blue with silvering at the muzzle and mild fading along the projecting edges and surfaces. The unnumbered bolt is finished armory bright and now has spots of mild dark freckling along the body and on the shroud. The matching numbered stock and hadguard have numerous minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered about the original military oil finish and there is a stable and well executed duffel-cut under the barrel band that exhibits almost no lateral play or wobble when the band is properly installed. The rear pistol grip-mounted sling swivel was removed by the arsenal at some point and the hole neatly filled with a wooden plug. Both an original Czech military leather sling (in flaked yet still serviceable condition) and sheet metal front sight protector are installed. This is a very nice honest GI bring-back that remains in very good plus condition and would make a great representative example for a collection. FFL or C&R
