I have for sale a lovely Merkel Model 2001 EL in 28 gauge. This gun is new and unfired and I can't find a mark on it anywhere. Barrels are 27 inches and chokes measure tight improved cylinder and tight modified, and barrel has nice solid rib. . Stock is straight grip with very nice dark grain pattern. Forearm is very trim 3 piece style. Stock dimensions are 1 3/8 X 2 5/8 X 14 1/4 over the Merkel butt plate. Cast is neutral. Weight of the gun is 6 pounds 13 ounces and is balanced extremely well. Engraving is very nicely done game scenes on the sides and scroll work on the bottom of the receiver. Engraving is signed. Trigger is single and selective with great trigger pulls. Ejectors are strong, and well timed. Lockup is incredible with the crossbolt. In short, this is one very special little gun that you will be proud to take into the field and will last for several lifetimes if taken care of. Price of the gun is $5400 plus actual shipping to your FFL and again, this gun is unfired and unblemished. There is no case or paperwork with the gun, sorry.
