Description: S# 51325, 38-72 W.C.F. 26 inch half octagon barrel , good bore with even light erosion. This 38-72 rifle shipped in this configuration on Sept 29, 1905 from the Winchester warehouse according to the Cody zip sheet. Barrel and receiver show traces of blue in protected areas with a mostly brown patina. Magazine box and lever show 40% blue fading to brown. Barrel shows wrench marks by rear sight. Wood wears a little added oil and fits very well. barrel bottom is importer marked by forend tip. Rifle also features original sights and first type hammer. An interesting half octagon 95 (of the 60,000 recorded rifles only 79 had 1/2 octagon barrels) with attractive used looks.
