Description:
Serial #1771, .52 RF, 22" barrel with a very good bore that has some light freckling and pitting along its length. This carbine has an overall dark plum-brown patina with some mild fading at the muzzle as well as along a few of the high edges and projections and spots and specks of freckling along the barrel and breechpiece. The brass furniture has a dark ochre patina with the remnants of an old coat of protective varnish throughout and the sling bar has been removed. The walnut stock has numerous minor handling marks and small blemishes with some no longer legible initials scratched into the wood on the left side of the buttstock. Two newer holes have been added: one on the belly of the butt and one at the bottom of the barrel band for mounting sling swivels. The action is tight and fully functional and the carbine itself is in very good plus-near fine condition overall. Antique
