38 5/8" rifled octagon barrel with blade front sight and fixed rear sight, signed J Douglass in script near the breech end. Full stock to the muzzle of tiger maple with brass forend cap, wear-panel under forend, engraved brass patchbox with 5 piercings, nickel-silver-reinforced cheekpiece with inlaid silver eagle, 17 other nickel-silver inlays, and oak ramrod retained on 3 brass pipes. Double set trigger. Lightly engraved lock marked More appears to have been converted from flintlock.
