Payment Types Accepted: Certified Check, Postal Money Order, Personal Check Description: This LC Smith Field Grade 16 gauge shotgun, serial number151009, was manufactured in 1936. It has 28” Armor Steel barrels choked Improved Cylinder (.008) and Modified (.015). The lettering on the top of the barrels is crisp and the bores are bright. The wall thickness for the right barrel (top/side/bottom) at 9” from muzzle is 035/.038/.038 and at the middle of the barrel is .038/.040/.038; the left barrel is .035/.038/.038 and .037/.040/.040, respectively. Bores 9” from the breach are .665/.665 respectively. The chambers are 2-3/4” with elongated forcing cones. The wood is beautiful and the interface between the stock and the action is solid. This gun weights 6 lbs 11 oz. The drop at the comb is 1-7/8” and at the heel 2-3/4”. Length of pull from the front trigger to the end of the butt plate is 14-1/2”. The gun locks up tight and on face; the top lever returns to the right of center. All serial numbers match. This vintage shotgun has been restocked with what appears to be XXX wood. The barrels are re-blued using the slow-rust blue process. The color case hardening is re-done by Classic Arms located in Crete, IL.
