Description:
S# 136290, 33 W.C.F. , 24 inch barrel, good bore with strong rifling and light erosion. This rifle was built in 1906 with half magazine and rubber shotgun butt. Other features include lower tang patent markings, serial number in italics, third type firing pin with stop pin, and second style hammer knurling. Front sight is a period replacement rear is an original flat top with serrated sides. Metal shows traces of blue with a mostly brown patina. Wood has been sanded and refinished with metal and butplate now proud. A small age check shows behind top tang on left side. Stock does not have a hole under butplate and butplate has a spur at top indicating that this is not a "lightweight" version. Barrel bottom shows a small importers mark in front of mag tube. A very good 1886 special order rifle showing many years of service. FFL or C+R
