Markings: The top of the barrel is stamped, “410 GAUGE-P / FULL CHOKE". The left side of the receiver is marked “Topper Model 148 / Harrington & Richardson, Inc.
Barrel Length: 28"
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a bead at the muzzle.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are varnished wood. There is truly no mentionable wear. The LOP measures 13 5/8" from the front of the trigger to the back of the H&R recoil pad. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blue Barrel & Matte Frame
Finish Originality: Factory Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and shiny.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows just a bit of thinning at the muzzle. The frame shows no mentionable finish loss or wear. The markings are crisp. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle.

Our Assessment: The Harrington & Richardson Model 148 is one of those guns that used to be in every barn or garage in rural America. These things are just about bulletproof, and will last for centuries. They are as simple as it is possible to be, a single shot break-top, hammer fired gun, but that makes them great survival or zombie apocalypse guns! This one is in Excellent condition. These guns have been providing solid, dependable service for literally generations!
