SOLD... A very nice Smith & Wesson 1st Model “Baby Russian”.. Has the harder to find 4" barrel. S/N very early 5228 and all matching of course. The bore is near excellent and still bright with a couple spots of very minor roughness that will probably clean to even better. The chambers are excellent and mint bright with no roughness. The finish is great with the barrel having about 80% and missing some finish on the left side only as you can see in the photo. The frame about 85% or so including the front and rear grip straps and just missing a little finish on the left side also. The cylinder has 95%. The barrel latch has about 50% blue and just traces on the trigger. The case colors on the hammer have faded to a medium brown patina. The mechanics are excellent. Crisp and tight as a new gun. Rock solid barrel to frame fit at the latch. NO wobbles anywhere. The markings are excellent. The grips are very good showing an old small repair to the bottom right side. Very well done. Just showing some pin holes in the repair compound or you would never know it was done. Fits very nice and full. Shows some honest wear to the checkering but all in all, a nice set of original grips. No other cracks or chips. The screw heads are all nice and sharp and not all burred up. Untouched front sight never filed on or messed with. Here is just a honest Smith & Wesson Baby Russian model with scarcer 4" barrel that has seen honest use but no abuse at a reasonable price.
