Description:
A very early flintlock working lock that is very stiff from non use and dirty from age. this is not fine English workmanship as there is much tooling marks and early repairs to screws. The hammer is like an re-enforced neck like the Brown Bess. The lock plate is similar to the Brown Bess in shape. I don't see any name on this lock. Only part missing is the frizzen spring.The total length is about 7 3/8" long and the width at the widest part behind the pan downward is about 1 1/2". This aged lock would look good on your old musket missing the lock These locks are scarcer than hens teeth, I know because I keep opening the chicken's beak, haven't seen any yet!
