Description:
Optics professionally restored. Perfectly clear as new. A nice pair of Civil War era Binoculars made of brass & leather covered. Marked Chancellor & Son,  Dublin & Paris. Measures approx 8" when fully extended with sun shades. All metal parts are black enameled.  The binocular body is covered with leather wraps and brass adjusting knob. Sliding eye shades over main objective lens. Overall, in very good condition, with bright clear image and only minor expected wear to original leather and body with some paint worn on brass. These high quality binoculars are in great working condition, both lenses are clear and they focus nicely. The binoculars are equiped with the origonal leather case in poor but solid condition and missing the cover. An excellent addition to any collection. Similar examples are illustrated in Davis book "Commanders of the Civil War".
