John Dubiel was a stocker for Hoffman arms until they closed in 1930. There is a complete chapter on Dubiel in Michael Petrov's second volume of Custom Gunmakers of the 20th Century. It is stamped 300 Mag on the barrel which most I have spoken to on this rifle say should be the 300 Hoffman magnum. The engraving was done and signed by Kornbrath. Gun was made for John J. Atkinson and is serial numbered 602 which supposedly was a continuation of the Hoffman numbers after they closed. Based on Dubiels death in 1937, I would place this gun circa 1935. Gun is near mint condition with all original finishes. Has Griffin sidemount rail on the gun. LOP 14", Barrel length 26.5", Weight 10lbs SOLD |
