Description:
This model 42 receiver has serial No 62659 which was produced between 7-9-1947 and 8-8-1947. The basic gun has a 26" barrel that included the Cutts compensator with full choke tube. The forend is the post war round type with flat bottom having 14 grooves. The barrel assembly with the Cutts is numbered to the gun. The second without the Cutts has no number. Both assemblies fit the receiver with no problem and both assemblies have the round post war forend with 14 grooves and a flat bottom. Both assemblies are import marked and have bright, excellent bores. All is contained in a Browning type hard case. All reference is from the book "The Winchester M.42" by Ned Schwing. FFL or C&R
