Remington 1861 Navy Percussion Civil War Revolver
Remington 1861 Navy Percussion Civil War Revolver, aka “Old Model Navy 36 cal., 6-shot 7 3/8” Bbl. Serial#143 on frame, under grips. Rare gun only 7,000 made versus 28,000 New Model Navy Standard Markings, “Patented Sept 141858/E Remington & sons Llion New York”, has military inspector’s markings on various parts. The bore in rough condition; cylinder has some dents on one side, chambers show evidence of some surface corrosion. Action works well and locks up fairly tight when cocked. Some normal dents and dings and light corrosion in metal for its age. Markings are only partially readable. Walnut grips fit tightly, and look good some dings, small chips, etc. Overall a nice Rare Good Original Antique Civil War Era Rem. Navy suitable for collector/Shooter.
