Description:
This is a Smith and Wesson .38 Double Action 2nd model in .38 Caliber. The metal surfaces on this rifle are engraved, and the metal appears to be bare, with no trace of finish. The engraving appears to be well done, but is worn, and it is not believed to be factory engraving. The grips appear to be either bone or horn. The barrel has strong, visible rifling, but is rough , with many dark spots. The timing on the cylinder appears to be off, and occasionally the cylinder will not rotate with a trigger pull.
