Description: Serial #N49255, .22 L.R., 25? B.S.A. marked conversion barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a very small amount of freckling within the grooves. This is an L.S.A. marked, 1916 dated rifle that has conversion markings on the wrist band: ?.22/IV*? stamped over the original pattern markings. The metal retains about 60-70% of the armory re-applied blue finish with the balance of the metal having a dull plum-brown patina that has freckling and some even, mild pinprick pitting on the receiver and matching numbered bolt. The receiver has a large ?C (Broad Arrow)? Canadian property stamp on the right side just above the serial number as well as on the base of the Cooey-made adjustable rear sight (the original barrel sight has been removed) , and there is a barely noticeable import stamp on the right side of the receiver above the still present magazine cut-off. The stock and handguards have scattered minor handling marks in the armory re-applied varnish finish with Enfield stamp on the underside of the forend just behind the nosecap. An unmarked magazine body is included as is a very good khakisling. This is a nice, Canadian marked, .22 SMLE that rates very good overall. {Ref. ?The Lee-Enfield A Century of Lee-Metford & Lee-Enfield Rifles & Carbines? by Ian Skennerton; 2007} FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Enfield Model: SMLE Serial Number: N49255 Caliber Info: .22LR Gauge Info: .22LR |
