Description:
Providence Tool Company Peabody patent Rifle. 32" bbl, not sure of caliber, but looks like it would make really big hole! Gun in very good shape, lite pit, some handling marks, few scratches, no cracks or splits. Met has no color left, but no rust. Rammer is in tack. Includes original bayonet, and an extra bayonet, appears to be newer. Also officers belt with brass buckle and sword. Henry Wheaton Rivers named his son, Freemont after Major General Freemont, this rifle was used by Henry Rivers and passed down to his son Freemont, who in turn passed it to its current owner, grandson of Freemont Rivers.
