Description:
SOLD...Antique Smith & Wesson #2 Army 5" barrel with some finish and the original form fit holster. A pretty decent Smith & Wesson #2 Army revolver with it’s original form fit holster that fits this gun like a glove and has been with this revolver for ever. .32 RF caliber. This one has the 5" barrel. The S/N is 42487. The metal is really nice towards the rear of the gun. The frame still retaining some nice but thinning blue as you can see in the photos. The barrel has some roughness from being in this holster for ever. Nothing real bad or deep pitted into the metal. Just mostly surface roughness and will probably clean better if so desired. The marking are very good. Cylinder show good PAT. markings with some speckled spots of roughness here and there. The barrel address is there but has the surface roughness over it so a little hard to see as you can see in the photo. Mechanics are excellent. NO wobble at the hinge as you will usually see. NO cylinder wobble front to rear or side to side either. Very tight gun. Tight barrel to frame fit at the latch also. Bore and chambers are good with normal black powder roughness. The grips are very nice with NO cracks or chips and still retaining 90% original varnish. All numbers matching including the grips. The holster is in good condition also. All the seam stitching is tight. Small hole worn through at the muzzle on the back side.. The latch tab and final are missing and the belt loop on the rear is all there but 3/4 of the stitching is torn. It displays excellent with the gun.. All in all a pretty nice little set here with the gun showing a little original finish at a reasonable price. Hard to find the 5" barrel with the original holster as most you will find have the 6" barrel..$18 insured shipping.
