Browning B-SS Custom 20 ga. Patterned to the likeness of the Winchester Model 21
CONDITION - No marks, dents, dings or scratches to the stock and fore-end. Checkering is sharp and clean. Receiver and barrels are excellent, bores and chambers are bright and clean. Bluing rates at 97+% with 2 small scuffs on the right barrel at the rear. These are minor and do not show up in the photos. No wear on the breech face, the lock-up is tight with the lever to the right.
CUSTOM FEATURES - The custom work on this "One of a Kind" SxS was done by Jaeger Gunsmithing. Top quality materials were used in conjunction with the highest level of workmanship. The original owner desired to make this gun look like a Winchester Model 21. The stock and fore-end are hand made from a very high grade of figured English Walnut finished in a satin oil. The checkering is a very fine diamond borderless pattern that is a perfect compliment to the wood. The custom steel vent rib is an outstanding example of unbelievable gunsmithing. The original solid rib was machined away and the Winchester style vent rib was added. Briley installed a thin wall choke tube in the left barrel and included a modified and an extra full tube plus the wrench. The water table/barrel flats and the breech face have been jeweled. The Winchester style steel grip cap is engraved "Jaeger Custom" to identify the gunsmiths.
BASIC FEATURES - 20 ga. 2-3/4" and 3" chambers, 28" barrels, single trigger and automatic safety. Length of pull is 14-1/2" to a red Old English style recoil pad complete with screw hole plugs. The original gun was manufactured in 1973, the serial #3XXX B37.
VALUE - The custom work on this fine "One of a Kind" double would cost well over $3000.00 today, if a firm could be found to do this level of quality work. For those of you that appreciate and enjoy a classic SxS, this likeness of a "Winchester Model 21" may be the best value for those vintage side by side shoots, sporting clays or upland hunting.
