Description:
Serial #343669, .30-40 Krag, 22" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This carbine retains 95% of the original blue finish on the barrel, band, and buttplate with some minor silvering at the muzzle as well as along some of the other projections and high edges. The receiver and magazine cover have a dark mottled gray-brown patina with muted color case-hardening mixing smoothly with a dark plum-brown color. The extractor retains some of its original brilliant niter blue finish and the bolt, finished armory bright, has a slightly dull gray patina with mild freckling throughout and a smooth brown patina on the handle. The walnut stock and handguard are likewise in fine condition with small handling marks and minor scuffs scattered about the original oil finish including a curved blemish running from the buttplate to the wrist on the left side of the butt. The wrist has a crisp "JSA/1901" cartouche with "P" proof on the underside of the wrist and both a cleaning rod and oiler are present in the stock compartment. This is a great looking '99 Krag carbine in excellent condition and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
