This is a handsome little revolver that has matching assembly numbers and retains about 85-90% of the original nickel finish with spots of dark freckling where the nickel has flaked at the muzzle, along the barrel rib, ejector rod, and on the cylinder. The frame has a cleaned area on the right side where the metal has a dull pewter gray patina and there are some small impact marks on the top of the frame flanking the cylinder latch. The hammer has some faint traces of the original color case-hardening remaining with the balance a mottled dark gray color and the rosewood grips (numbered to the gun on the interior) are in very good-fine shape with minor handling marks and blemishes on the butt and some small peen marks as well. The barrel lock-up is solid without any lateral play and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a nice little No. 1 S&W and is in fine condition overall.
