Description:
Serial #2208, .22 RF, 3” barrel cluster with good bores. This is a late model pistol with the long barrels that has retained about 40-50% of the original blue, mostly on the protected areas, and turned to a mellow plum-brown patina on the balance. The brass frame retains traces of the original nickel finish with an overall cleaned yellow-ochre patina while the sides of the frame just above the grips and on the trigger spur have turned to an almost black patina. The rotating recoil shield/loading gate/safety and the hammer have developed a dark tarnish as well but have some traces of original finish remaining. The walnut grips are in very good shape with a thick varnish finish that has flaked in spots and there are some minor scratches and blemishes throughout. The mechanism is fully functional and the pistol rates fine condition overall. This is a rare original Rupertus pepperbox and would make an exceptional addition to any collection.
