Description:

Very unusual gun, a specialty of Thomas Turner of London. Skeletonized stock and stub forend help keep the weight of this 2 9/16" 12 ga to just a hair over 6lbs. Highly engraved action that appears to be by Westley Richards, recently cleaned and lubed, perfect screws. Extractors. Bbls are 28" damascus, retaining strong contrast throughout with some darker blemishes. Bbls were proofed 13B 13M and now measure L732/750/738 (IC) and R 728/740/735 (SK). Middle diameter is jug. Bores are clean except for some pitting in the jug area on both sides. Recently rejointed by Kearcher so 100% tight. Stock is quite straight, measuring 14 1/2" through original heel and toe plates, 1 1/2" and 2" drops with a fair amount of cast off. Stock has had a light restoration, including a repair (splice) to edge of forend, five BBs removed from one side of buttstock and filled, and checkering cleaned up. This would make a practical grouse or quail gun and a real conversation piece. (Have seen only one other ed by Sotheby's a year ot two ago)
