Description:
The ammunition pouch could hold two twelve round .455 bullet packs or eight paper six round packets plus six rounds held on external loops which were intended only to be used when a situation got dire but were of course generally used first much to the chagrin of Petty Officers. This example shown was made by Martins of Birmingham Limited in 1902.  The brown leather shows age and light marks. Seams are tight and leather is supple. Inside flap is marked 86 and stamped with a large 22 in Ink. The brass hardware has a dark patina, shows no verdigris. A fine WWI ammo pouch for the collector.
