Here is by far the best value on the market in a lightweight sporting over and under shotgun, the Tri Star Upland Hunter, chambered in 20 gauge. Manufacturer is Kral A.V. of Konya, Turkey. Importer and warrantor is Tri Star Sporting Arms of North Kansas City, Missouri. Type is box lock over and under shotgun, two round capacity with 3 inch and 2 3/4 inch shells interchangeably. Construction is steel barrels, internal parts, selector-safety lever, and swivel studs; with lightweight alloy receiver, sling swivels, trigger guard, and breech lever. Buttstock and forend are Turkish Walnut. Mechanism is Single Selective Trigger, with selector on the tang safety, single extractor, not ejector. Barrel transfer is mechanical. Barrel is 28 inch Screw in Choke type, with Huglu or Benelli thread chokes. This Hunter comes with a total of 5 choke tubes: .620 five slash Cylinder Bore, .615 four slash Improved Cylinder, .610 three slash Modified, .600 two slash Improved Modified, and .590 one slash Full. Choke tubes appear to be stainless steel. Rib is .315 serrated top 8 post, with red fiber optic ray-bar type front sight. Barrels are ported in between for heat dissipation. Trigger is .290 chrome plated alloy, pulls in the 5 pound vicinity with about 1/2 inch of travel. Forend is schnabel type with lateral cut checkering that matches the checkering on the pistol grip area of the buttstock. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 3/8 inch factory recoil pad. Drop is standard 1 1/2 inch at the comb, 2 1/2 inches at the heel, and with a 3/4 inch right hand cant that will not be friendly to left hand shooters without professional stocksmithing. Weight empty is 5 pounds 14 ounces, with center of gravity at the front of the barrel’s chamber area. Finish is blued steel, with black matte anodized receiver area, and laser engraving on the receiver and trigger guard. This is a sweet, well made, slick finished shotgun, and it shows why Turkish gunsmithing is here to stay; after all, we’ve had over 500 years of Turkish smithing anyway. Replacement pricing on this shotgun is $800 vicinity in our area. We’re offering the one in the photos and its identical mates for half that.
