Serial Number: 40883
This gorgeous antique has the Facile Princeps triple wedge locking mechanism released in 1876 and re-introduced again in 1998 because of its superior design and strength qualities. It also has the famed Greener cross bolt. I could not pin point the exact model, but this gun is a higher grade than the FH70 as it has FULL COVERAGE FINE ENGLISH SCROLL AND GAME SCENE ENGRAVING, nicely sculpted fences, and a gold crown on the opening lever. The gun is in great mechanical condition, with very healthy damascus barrels and still in original proof. Built in 1893, sn40883 also has gold triggers, light weight at 6lbs. 10oz. with its 27" barrels, and nice shooting dimensions. The cost of engraving in today's world greatly exceeds the asking price on this gun. Choked just right for walking up game, with delightful handling characteristics, coming from one of the most noted gunmakers in London, this gun is priced well to sell and become one of your favorite investment quality firearms.
