Description:
Serial #126645, .455 Webley, 7 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that retains 98-99% of the original brushed blue finish with just some very mild silvering along the raised edges and projections as well as some further mild silvering at the muzzle. The topstrap is marked "'WS' TARGET MODEL" on the left side with the Webley & Scott "winged bullet" on the frame. The cylinder has some scattered small spots of mild freckling between the flutes. The checkered walnut grips are in excellent condition with only a few minor handling marks and some very mild flattening of the points. The lock-up is solid and tight and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in its original leather traveling case with William Richards label and six compartment, maroon baize-lined interior which contains: a period glass oil bottle, nickel plated muzzle cover, cleaning rod, cleaning brush, empty box of Dominion .455, and key. Also included in the case is a Webley & Scott rimfire conversion unit (serial #829) chambered in .22 Long which is in excellent condition and retains nearly all of its original blue finish. This is fantastic example of a rare and highly desirable WS Target Model with case, a rare sub-caliber conversion unit, and an unusually high amount of the original finish remaining.
