Description:
Serial #34L7050, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright, two-groove bore. This Long Branch-made, 1943 dated rifle has retained about 92-95% of the original blue finish that has silvered slightly along the high edges and projections as well as developed hints of a mellow plum-brown patina on some of the surfaces. The non-matching numbered, but correct, bolt has a bright body with blue still present along the handle and on the wide safety lug. An “L” type two position rear sight is fitted, London proofs and “ENGLAND” are stamped on the receiver ring, there is a small unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the muzzle, and the left side of the wrist has a crisp and clear “N” Royal Navy property stamp. The matching numbered forend and handguards have been arsenal refinished to fine condition with minor handling marks and small surface blemishes marring the otherwise excellent military oil finish throughout. A single unnumbered magazine is included which has some of the original blue visible under a black Suncorite finish. This is a handsome, Canadian-made rifle with unusual and desirable Royal Navy property stamp and would make and excellent addition to any collection of British or World War II weapons. {Ref.
