Description:
Old Antique Powder Horn. This has a shaped plug in the butt end with a eye screw in the center, the screw is an old style and helps age this item to the early 1800's. The plug is about 3" by 2 1/2". The opposite end is nicely carved and is damage free and still retains the original pour plug. Around the large end are tiny nails keeping the plug in place. The plug has some cracking but is held solidly in place. This is a great authentic primitive. The horn Measures 14 3/4" along the outside curve. It has beautiful dark stain Patina and does show some mothing but none clear through. The thong was added later. This horn could be used.
