Description:
Here is the seldom found LC Smith Drilling made in the 1878-1888 time period. One of 1,186 made. This gun features well figured damascus 30" barrels in 10 gauge, 10 gauge over 44 caliber center fire. The bores are good with evidence of light honing and slight traces of a few remaining pits. Rifling is well present. Chambers are 3" in shotgun barrels. Bores in shotgun barrels measure right at .800 with 40/1000 choke (full) and left at .799 with 45/1000 choke (full). Shotgun barrels of this time period were typically overbored by todays standards. Flip up rear sight. Wedge forend fastening system. Front trigger release locking system - very clever. Hammers are in great shape - no cracks or repairs. Gun is very slightly loose on face. Rebounding hammers. Serial number is 442. Weight of gun is 9 LBS 13 7/8 OZ. Shipping is $45 and can be shipped directly as it is an antique. Stock dimensions follow.
