Description: S#42485, 12 GA, 2 3/4 inch, 28 1/2 inch barrels, IC choke in both, bright excellent bores. This 1902 built first variation H grade sidelock double features London twist barrels, cocking indicators, dolls head rib extention, and checkered pistol grip stock with 14 inch LOP to hard rubber monogram butplate. This is the early variation with escution in forend and no sunburst on sideplates. Action retains 70% case colors with dark staining on bottom and on trigger guard. Barrels show strong twist pattern and have a matted rib. Barrels have been slightly shortened and now wear a large brass bead. Stocks show a professional refinish with freshened checkering and a small repair at heel on left side. A few dings and light scratches are scattered about. Only 9500 H grade guns were built in three engraving patterns, three gauges, two forend variations and with twist or fluid steel barrels. This is the early pattern 12 bore, a fine gun for the Lefever Collector.
