Description: Inv. 5003 Janssen - Warner ( Janssen (AKA Janssen Et. Fils Liege.), 12 Ga. 30inch barrels. This is a beautifully Belgian made double shotgun from the 1920s, imported to the U.S. by the Kirkland Bros. Of New York. It is choked full and full with automatic ejectors. The gun's condition is super. The original factory blue is about 97%. There are some very small patches of light pinpricks on the left barrel near the receiver and one or two light pinpricks and scratches scattered about, but nothing really noticeable. The receiver retains about 65% of the original case color. All screw heads, screw holes and screw escutcheons are tastefully engraved as is the crossbolt and barrel breach edges. The right barrel has two very light surface dents which are barley noticeable and do not affect the inside of the barrel, however I feel they are worth mentioning. The stock features a dark curved grain European walnut very finely checkered. I estimate the checkering which is double bordered to be at least 32 lines per inch. The right side of the push button forearm has a tiny splinter missing from the forward edge. The toe of the stock has a silver plated monogram disc. The gun also features automatic ejectors. The bores are mirror bright and flawless. This particular gun with the Greener crossbolt and the automatic ejectors is priced at $125 in the Kirkland Bros catalog of 1927. Yes $125. In 1927, can you imagine what that would be today for this quality? The gun locks up tight and appears to functions properly. This lovely handcrafted double is only ....$1695.
