#3104 Evans Repeating Rifle Old Model Transition Sporting Rifle
This is a 44 Evans centerfire rifle with a 34 shot rotary magazine in the butt. It has a 27.5” octagon barrel and a nickel-plated lever. This shoots the 1” 44 caliber Evans cartridge. It retains over 50% blue finish. The bore is very good and bright with strong rifling. The mechanical function is very good and tight. Only some small bruising on front wood and the rear wood is nice. The front site is a globe type. There were only about 300 made in model. This is early because only the first few hundred didn’t have a provision for a lever-retaining stud. These take the record for high capacity magazine rifles in the 19th century.
