#3432 Burnside Carbine 4th Model 1864, 54 Caliber
This one retains 90% plus blue and dark case colors. The mechanical function is excellent plus and the bore is excellent plus condition, bright and shinny. The wood has two sharp and crisp inspector Cartouches on the left wrist and one tiny blemish on the left rear stock. The serial number is 11,684 and the barrel is marked Model 1864. Civil War regiments 1st Michigan, 3rd Indiana, 5th, 6th, 7th Ohio, 1st New Jersey, 4th West Virginia, 3rd, 14th, 18th Pennsylvania, 2nd, 12th, 14th, 16th Illinois were issued the Burnside Carbines. These fired a quick loading 54 caliber copper or tapered foil percussion cartridge.
