Description:
Serial #106014, .455 Webley, 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This revolver was built in 1916 and retains about 85-90% of the original blue that has some fading along the sides of the muzzle and along the exposed edges and projections. Some further mild fading and freckling is present on the grip straps and in between the cylinder flutes. British military acceptance stamps are present on the left side of the frame ahead of and behind the cylinder, and the hammer and trigger retain most of their original fire blue finish. The checkered hard rubber grips are in very good condition with mild flattening of the points, a small chip at the toe of the right panel, and some discoloration at the butt on both sides. The revolver was imported from Canada and does have a small unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel but no British commercial proofs. The lock-up is tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly; a fine New Service overall. FFL or C&R
