#3590 Starr Civil War Percussion Carbine Nice
This is a very nice Starr Percussion Civil War carbine and is a 54 caliber breach loader with SN 12513. They were issued to the Union Cavalry regiments, 1st Ark., 5 Kansas, 11th Missouri and 24th N.Y. The condition is very crisp and tight mechanical condition with an excellent plus bright and shinny bore. It retains 70% original barrel finish of which is 40% blue and the balance plum color. The lock and side plate’s case colors are a mostly silverely color with dark case colors on the lock. The hammer retains 80% case colors. The wood is very fine with a nice inspectors cartouche to the rear of the saddle ring on the left wrist. The brass barrel band and butt plate are nice mellow color. The toe of the butt stock appears to have an old repair but is tight and not very noticeable. Only 20,601 were made.
