Description:
L.C. Smith 4E 12 Gauge SxS Shotgun
98% FACTORY CASE COLOR, 1 OF 388 TOTAL

General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1905, 12 Gauge, 6lbs 12oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 204982

The Grade 4E is one of the hardest of the L.C. Smith guns to find, with only 388 total produced in 12ga. There were more A-1's produced and more Grade 5's produced by far.  This beautiful Elsie, sn204982 made in 1905, is in untouched factory condition with 98% factory case color covering the receiver (though faded, it is clearly full coverage) 98% factory blue, trigger guard still showing over 90% original charcoal blue, and what looks to be 98% of the original wood finish.  Add to the package a factory English grip and there are likely fewer than 40 guns configured as such.  A VERY RARE GUN INDEED!  AND REMEMBER, CONDITION MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!  It gets even better.  How often do you see a fine American double gun that weighs less than 7 lbs.?  How about 6 3/4lbs. and balanced dead on the hinge pin with 28" barrels?  Awesome! This gun was built as a supreme upland gun, with well figured wood and fine engraving, choked SK/M with mirror bores, it would shine on the sporting clays course as well.  Collecting L.C. Smith pre-1913 guns is my passion, and this is the first high condition Grade 4 I have had in 15 years.  What a great investment opportunity and a gun that is the epitome of fine L.C. Smith gunmaking.
