What a beautiful Fox we have here. Restored to historically proper finishes in the finest manner, still configured just as it was shipped, documented on the factory work card with all factory original parts, this XE, sn22327 built in 1915, was engraved during the time of the finest XE style engraving. Delicately carved with clean, crisp cuts, the deep relief oak leaf and game scene engraving outshines most XE guns I have seen. Even the background shading is superbly done. The XE was one of the most visibly elegant of the Fox grades. This one came from the factory with delightful checkering on figured Circassian walnut stocks, standard with ejectors, double ivory beads, and a Silvers pad, and special attention was paid to the chambers, bores, and chokes to create a highly refined shooting machine. Special ordered with a 15" LOP (solid rubber Silvers pad can be shaped down by up to 1/2" to reduce length of pull to as little as 14 3/8"), 32" #2 weight barrels choked F/F, and nice shooting dimensions, this gun is the heavy 12 gauge we all need on occasion for pheasants, waterfowl, turkey, pigeons, etc., not to mention trap and other clay games. Its 7 1/2lb. weight and fine balance aids in a smooth swing and reduces felt recoil. There are very few Fox XE guns available for sale, especially with these desirable features and 100% as new condition. There will always be a strong demand for these guns, and as such they are great investments.
