Description: This is a " VERY NICE, SPENCER CARBINE, Model 1860, SN# 43649, .56CAL, Very fine Rifling, Blue on Barrel is 60=70%, Receiver a Grey Patina, Very Minimum of evidence of Rust. Fully Functional Action, For a Collector, or a Re-Enactor, This is a fine example. Only a small crack in bottom of Butt, not loose, but probably would need a professional repair, not difficult. Gun was probably issued in 1864, and has some modifications which means it went back to the field armory during the war. Rear Sight is a 1865, rounded top. The Magazine is a later version, with a groove in the side. There is a notch in the heel of the lever action, which is a later version. The Stabler Cut-Off has not been installed, and the Hammer is the 1860 Version. The Barrel is a 6 Groove barrel, so the gun did not make it to the Springfield Re-Work.Shipping on this gun in Lower 48, $42.00 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes |
