Description:
A Model 29 JP Sauer Hammerless Pigeon Gun with Side locks and Automatic ejectors. This gun is made with Krupp barrels of Krupp Special steel, with a dolls head extension rib, and a press button fore end. Beautiful arabesque engraving, selected walnut stock. This particular gun has a 13.5” lop to heel and toe clips, in lieu of a butt plate. Barrels are 30” long and are free of any pitting, dings or bulges. The gun has not been restored and could use a good cleaning and some restoration work. The ejectors fire strongly, the top lever probably needs a new return spring as it appears weak. The gun does have a sling swivel mount on the barrels but the swivel stud in the butt stock is missing. The oval in the butt stock is not engraved. The engraving on the action is beautiful but it is developing that patina such that it should be professionally refinished. The screw heads are all very good and haven’t been buggered with, and all are properly lined up. Straight grip Wood has modest amount of figure and a few small minor handling marks. Checkering is very good. This is a really rare gun at a bargain price. If I can generate enough commission through sales, I will buy it myself!! If you have any questions let me know.
