This impressive early production German Weatherby is engraved in deep relief acanthus scroll covering the reciever and half the barrel. The floor plate features silver wire enlay and a glorious gold Elk's head. The trigger guard features the initials RW in the same silver. The barrel shows some spotting and retains 90% blue overall. There is a claw mount base mounted on a band just in front of the reciever that has the same scroll and features the caliber in script.
The stock is an impressive piece of timber finished in a tastefully done rubbed oil finish. Not the hight gloss seen on most Mark V. There are scattered marks from field use that only add character to a piece that has stories to tell. Monte Carlo syle cheek piece and flared pistol grip are classic Weatherby.
The guns is ready to continue the harvest and should be handed down for many generations to come.
