Description:
Japanese Military double action revolver Type 26, caliber 9mm Japanese. Serial number 9597, First Production Period, probably manufactured pre-1900 by Tokyo Artillery Arsenal. All original.This break-open top revolver relplaced the Smith & Wesson and copies some of its features. Cylinder has 6 chambers. Barrel is 4.76 inches, bore is clean and unpitted. Finish is 90% bright charcoal blued, turning brown with age, with crystal blue (tempered blue) hammer, some early light freckling (see pictures). All other parts carry assembly numbers, not same as serial number. Both grips have full, correct serial number.
