Description:
Boss & Co., London. Magnificent 12ga. OU game gun with rising-bite third-fastener and two original sets of barrels ordered from Boss in April, 1937 -
Weight: 7 Lbs. 1 oz.  Stock dimensions: 14 ¾”x 1 3/8”x 2 ¾”x 1/8” cast-off.
Barrel set #8451:  27” with orig. 2 ¾” chambers, mint bores (.731”/.731”), choked .020”/.030”, minimum wall thickness .030”/.031”. Full length, file-cut, top rib with two beads as specified on original order.
Barrel set #8452:  27” with orig. 2 ¾” chambers, mint bores (.730”/.730”), choked .034”/.034”, minimum wall thickness .030”/.029”. Full length, file-cut, top rib with two beads as specified on original order.
Rare Boss single-selective trigger. Automatic safety, which has been disabled by removing the little activating rod (rod stored in the same small leather pouch which also contains spare strikers). Incredibly rare, hidden, rising-bite third-fastener. Interesting “finger rest” on right lock plate specified in the original order records. Flawless fit and finish with action and locks retaining most of the original hardening colors. Barrels, forend iron, and mounts retain most of their original brilliant black finish. Highly figured original straight-grip stock with checkered butt and splinter forend retain all the original finish. It should also be noted that all specifications conform to the original Boss ledger entry which accompanies the gun along with the original owner’s Canadian Importation document.
The whole set cased in original maker’s case with trade label and a complete complement of original Boss accessories just as it left the maker in 1937. Overall mechanically perfect, lightly used, and remaining in near-mint, original, condition throughout. This incredibly rare gun is, perhaps, the finest Boss 12ga.OU in the world and it is unlikely you will ever see one finer offered for sale.
