This is the elusive ”Z-spring” that goes behind the cylinder latch on the AA, V, J and MM frame Colt revolvers. This is no longer sold by Colt, and due to the unique shape there are no replacement springs that can be used. It is virtually impossible to get unless you are lucky enough to find a used one in a parts gun. Better buy one as a spare NOW While I have them because if your spring ever goes bad you revolver will only become a parts Gun --Revolver is rendered useless & un-safe to shoot with out this spring I know !!!! I just ran across a small lot of these springs, they are brand new (i.e. not worn and weak gunsmith leftovers) so they have the tension needed for proper function.
