Enfield Jungle Carbine, No. 5 Mk I, Caliber .303 British, Serial Number 63XX, Dated 6/45.
This beauty is a wartime conversion made at the Fazackerly Arsenal. The condition is well beyond that normally seen for this little powerhouse. The gun retains about 94-95% of the original black paint finish. There is some mild sharp edge wear and some scattered scratches and flakes on the barrel but not much else. No rust or pits are to be seen anywhere. The bolt is the correct hollow handle type. The flip up or tangent has the correct graduations for the carbine. It is totally correct and in great condition. The gun actually shows very little use. The wood parts appear to have been together from the conversion as do all the parts. The stock parts have about 98% 0f the original lacquer with just a few nicks and dings. The bore is great, very bright with quite sharp rifling and no evidence of graying. Should be a great shooter, but not for sissies, as I understand they have quite a kick. The gun comes with one original blued magazine and original sling. A nicer example would be hard to find. $545.
