Mauser (guv), G-43, Caliber 8 mm, Serial Number 27XX N. Dated 44, Inv 5221.
The metal parts are really quite fine. The receiver and bolt carrier are rough casting which is proper. The rear of the receiver is machined with the early internal dust shield. The bolt carrier has the early style bolt hold open assembly. There is easily 85-90% of the original factory finish. There is the usual sharp edge silvering and the occasional pin prick or flaking. There is almost no rust other than an the occasional pin pricks. The receiver is stamped Eagle/Swastika and Eagle/214. The stock while unmarked in really fine shape. No nicks splits, but for some reason appears to have been lacquered. The bore is very good with consistent deep rifling and a hint of surface graying. All in all should be a fine shooter. The gun comes with a cleaning rod not shown, an original front sight cover, and one magazine. The magazine is stamped G-43, “aye” and Eagle/WaA845. A little paint thinner and it's a real winner. $2595.
The scope shown is not included. To complete your sniper there are several sets of original scopes a with repro mounts available from $695. to $895. The scopes mounts do have to be fitted to the gun in many instances. Scope assemblies purchased with the gun will receive a discount of $100. For around three grand you can assemble a real nice G-43 sniper.
