COLT BREVETE MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVER BY CLEMENT WITH BONE GRIPS. Serial numberd "1104XX" on barrel, frame, and triggerguard. Top flat of 5 1/2" barrel stamped "CAP SYSTEM MANUFACTURED BY C. CLEMENT". Barrel proofed extensively on sides with crowns and under loading lever with crossed sceptres and Belgian proofs. Frame with surprising amount of case colors showing through dark patina which matches rest of gun. Silver plated triggerguard stamped '38 cal" with just traces of silver remaining. Original bone grips still fit very nicely and not loose. All original parts. Cylinder with Brooklyn Bridge scene and "United Arms Manufacturies" rolled at edge of cylinder by chambers. Excellent original nipples. Working order with stiff mechanics due to old dried grease. Fine example for a patent model by Clement, one of the finer makers of Colt Patent models. Antique.
